GIRLZ BY DESIGN is a learning program which offers students a platform to exhibit their creative work, to gain practical career advice from design professionals, and to build a lasting supportive community.
Our Mission:
We empower, motivate, and educate young creatives in high schools across the DMV region by preparing them to succeed in the new digital era.
Program Goals
As a result of completing our 10-Week program, students will:
• Develop an understanding of and identify the various aspects of design thinking.
• Practice problem solving to meet community identified needs with design.
• Build awareness of design fields and hear from professionals working in an array of
creative tech industries.
• Gain access to open-source design resources, internship and job postings, design literature, and events and community opportunities.
